Students invited to apply for agriculture scholarship support

AgCareers has officially opened applications for its annual Feed Your Future Scholarship, designed to encourage students planning careers in agriculture or food industries. This opportunity provides $1,000 in funding to support one U.S. post-secondary student as they prepare for the future.

“This scholarship reaffirms our commitment to ‘Feeding the World with Talent’ by supporting educational advancement and highlighting impactful career pathways in the agriculture and food sectors. Having already awarded six scholarships in previous years, we are proud to continue investing in the future of our industry,” said Bonnie Johnson, Marketing & Communications Manager, AgCareers.

Since its launch, AgCareers has awarded six scholarships, helping students access education while also raising awareness of the diverse roles available in the agri-food sector. The program aims to connect future leaders with career opportunities that directly support food production and innovation.

To qualify, applicants must be enrolled at a U.S. post-secondary institution and have at least one semester of study remaining after 2025. The application includes short essay questions that ask students to reflect on their personal goals and passion for agriculture.

One key question is, “How are you going to do your part in feeding the world with your talent?” New additions this year also encourage students to consider the future of agriculture, including the impact of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence on farming and food.

Applications for the scholarship will remain open until November 17, 2025, and the recipient will be announced by December 19, 2025.

This initiative continues AgCareers’ efforts to support education while helping students explore meaningful opportunities within the agriculture and food industries. Now Canadian Scholarships are also available.

Before trade and tariffs dominated the conversation, taxation was one of the biggest issues on farmers’ minds last year. From the carbon tax to capital gains, OFA worked with the Canadian Federation of Agriculture and provincial partners to push for fair, practical solutions. We saw progress on carbon tax relief and capital gains, and we continue to advocate for modernized farm tax programs at both the provincial and federal levels.

OFA works to represent the interests of Ontario farmers to all levels of government. Renew your Farm Business Registration (FBR) by March 1/26 and choose OFA so we can continue to support Ontario farmers and their businesses.
