Global banks selected to support BASF Ag IPO
BASF is moving ahead with preparations for a potential initial public offering (IPO) of its Agricultural Solutions division by appointing Citi, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs, and J.P. Morgan as global coordinators.
The company is targeting IPO readiness by mid-2027 as it continues efforts to establish the business as an independent agricultural company.
The planned IPO is a key part of BASF’s “Winning Ways” strategy and is intended to unlock the full value of its Agricultural Solutions operations. BASF has previously announced plans to list the business as a Societas Europaea (SE) on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The division offers a broad portfolio of agricultural products and services, including crop protection solutions, seeds, traits, biological products, and digital technologies that support farmers worldwide.
BASF reported that the legal and operational separation of Agricultural Solutions remains on schedule. Approximately 80% of the global business has already transitioned into separate legal entities operating on a new industry-specific enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.
This transition is expected to improve flexibility, strengthen customer relationships, and allow the company to respond more effectively to the needs of agricultural markets.
The company is also building the governance structure and operational capabilities necessary to operate as a standalone publicly traded organization.
Additional details about the division’s strategy and operations will be presented during BASF’s Capital Markets Day on November 24, 2026, where all four members of the Agricultural Solutions management board are expected to participate.
BASF emphasized that no final decision has been made regarding the timing or execution of the IPO. Any future offering will depend on several factors, including market conditions and the overall investment environment.
