New company aims to strengthen glyphosate supply and market focus
Bayer has announced the creation of Ruveon LLC, a new company that will oversee its U.S. glyphosate business. Based in St. Louis, Missouri, Ruveon will handle pricing, production, logistics, and market strategies for glyphosate products sold in the United States.
The move is part of Bayer's broader Five-Year Framework, a plan designed to strengthen business performance, improve operational efficiency, and support long-term growth. The company said the change will allow Bayer and Ruveon to focus more effectively on their individual business priorities.
Ruveon will operate as a Bayer Group business and will concentrate specifically on the competitive U.S. glyphosate market. Bayer expects the dedicated structure to help the company respond more quickly to market conditions while continuing to provide reliable products and services to customers.
"Today we take an important step within our Five-Year Framework. Ruveon's launch is a sign of our ongoing commitment to excellence in the glyphosate market," said Brian Naber, Head of Crop Science North America & Australia/New Zealand.
He added, “Consolidating U.S. glyphosate resources and operations benefits customers, partners and other stakeholders by enabling the Ruveon and Bayer Group teams to fully dedicate the appropriate focus and resources to best meet and anticipate our respective customers' needs."
Leading the new company is Alfonso Alba Ordóñez, who joins Ruveon as Chief Executive Officer. He brings more than 30 years of leadership experience in the global agriculture sector and has held senior roles across several international regions.
Steve Knodle has been named Executive Vice President and Head of Commercial Business. With nearly three decades of agricultural industry experience, he will lead commercial sales and marketing activities for agricultural, industrial, turf, and ornamental markets.
Bayer expects Ruveon to play an important role in supplying U.S. agriculture with glyphosate products while maintaining strong standards for quality and customer service.
