Control Tower platform delivers real time feed mill inventory visibility
BinSentry has introduced a new technology platform designed to improve how feed mills and grain elevators manage inventory. The company launched Control Tower, a real-time software platform that helps operators monitor feed ingredients, finished goods, and overall facility activity in one system.
The new platform is part of BinSentry’s effort to modernize the animal feed supply chain using artificial intelligence and automated data systems. Feed mills often face challenges with inventory visibility, manual tracking, and delayed information. Control Tower aims to solve these problems by giving operators a live digital overview of their entire facility.
Control Tower works together with BinSentry’s ProSense HD sensors, which measure bin levels using advanced 3D technology. The system gathers data from these sensors and displays it in a single dashboard. From this dashboard, operators can see ingredient levels, total inventory, bin capacity, and ongoing activity across the facility.
“Feed mills have been forced to operate reactively for far too long — climbing bins in an attempt to eyeball inventory levels, chasing spreadsheets, and responding to problems after they happen,” said Ben Allen, CEO of BinSentry.
“Control Tower changes that. BinSentry is the only company delivering a fully integrated solution that combines AI-powered 3D bin sensors with a live, facility-wide dashboard. This isn’t just monitoring inventory — it’s transforming how mills operate,” said Allen.
The platform provides an interactive map of the feed mill that allows users to move across different bins without switching between multiple screens. Operators can hover over bins to view 3D images and internal visuals. By selecting a bin, they can access trend graphs, historical data, and additional analytics that help with planning and decision making.
Another key feature of the system is the ability to filter bins by ingredient. This allows feed mill staff to focus on specific materials when monitoring supply levels or planning production. The platform can be accessed on tablets, desktop computers, or mobile devices, making it easier for operators to stay connected whether they are on site or working remotely.
The system also helps feed mills identify potential ingredient shortages before they happen. By improving inventory accuracy and reducing manual reporting errors, operators can lower shrink losses and manage transportation issues such as demurrage charges. The platform also allows mills to respond quickly to unexpected truck deliveries or capacity limitations.
“Feed inventory management is one of the most complex operational challenges in agriculture,” said Nathan Hoel, CTO of BinSentry. “Our team has built Control Tower from the ground up to solve the real-world problems mills face every day — limited visibility, siloed systems, and time-critical decisions. That’s what makes this platform different.”
Feeding inventory management is often one of the most complex tasks in agricultural operations. By combining sensor technology, artificial intelligence, and a centralized dashboard, the new platform aims to provide feed mills with better visibility, faster decisions, and improved operational efficiency.
