New program honors agricultural innovators shaping the future of farming
Canada’s Farm Show Regina Saskatchewan has opened nominations for its Innovator Program, celebrating individuals whose ideas and leadership are helping move Canadian agriculture forward. The program is presented by Bunge and delivered in partnership with Farms.com and Greenwave Innovation.
“Agricultural innovators are passionate and determined to find a better way,” said Dean Clark, CEO & Founder, Greenwave Innovations. “I believe this passion within the industry has been shaped by the previous generations of hard-working men and women that always found a way to get things done.” Industry leaders note that innovation is driven by passion, problem solving, and a strong connection to farming traditions passed through generations.
As the agricultural community gathers for Canada’s Farm Show Regina in March 2026, the program will spotlight individuals whose work supports productivity, sustainability, and practical solutions at the farm level. Organizers emphasize that successful innovation must deliver real value where it matters most, on farms and in rural communities.
The Innovator Program features four award categories. The Emerging Innovator category recognizes individuals early in their careers who are making meaningful contributions. The Visionary Innovator category honors experienced leaders whose long-term work has advanced agriculture. The Farmer Innovator category celebrates producers who successfully adopt new technologies on their farms. The Community Innovator category acknowledges those who strengthen agriculture through education, outreach, and local initiatives.
"Innovation is a driving force in our industry and the future of our sector, I’ve seen how bold ideas the power has to reshape agriculture. Recognizing innovators celebrates individuals who truly understand what it takes to design, create, or invent something impactful,” said Andrew Bawden, Director of Business Development at Farms.com.
“While innovation often begins away from the farm, its true success is realized at the farm level, where ideas must be practical, scalable, and deliver real value. These innovations are not just solving today’s challenges; they are shaping for a more resilient, sustainable, and competitive agricultural system for the next generation,” said Bawden.
The Innovator Program is hosted at Canada’s Farm Show Regina, which is held annually at the Regina Exhibition Association Limited. The show brings together farmers, agribusinesses, and industry professionals to prepare for the upcoming growing season.
Nominations are open to the public, and individuals are encouraged to submit applications for innovators who are making a positive impact on agriculture. Selected innovators will be recognized during a formal awards ceremony held as part of the show’s welcome events.
“We know the agricultural community is resilient and full of ingenuity. The Innovator Program celebrates those who foster that culture within the agricultural community,” said Trent Fraser, Acting President and Chief Executive Officer of the Regina Exhibition Association Limited (REAL) where CFS is held annually. “Showing the industry where those innovations are developed enhances further innovation and enhances the builds on the ingenuity farming in Canada is known for.”
Canada’s Farm Show Regina continues to serve as a platform for celebrating leadership, innovation, and the future of Canadian agriculture.
