Mosaic Biosciences and Elicit Plant Partner to Develop Water-Stress Solutions for North American Canola Growers.
Mosaic Biosciences and Elicit Plant have entered into a joint development agreement to create a new agricultural solution aimed at helping canola growers across North America manage water-stress challenges.
The collaboration will use Elicit Plant’s proprietary EliTerra technology platform to explore and develop tools designed to help maintain canola yield potential during periods of limited water availability.
Canola is a vital crop for North American agriculture, particularly in Canada, where nearly 22 million acres are planted annually. The crop also plays an important role in northern U.S. production regions, with yearly output ranging between 17 and 19 million metric tons depending on growing conditions.
As climate variability continues to increase, farmers are facing greater challenges from drought and water stress that can affect crop performance.

The partnership brings together Mosaic Biosciences’ expertise in crop resilience and grower-focused solutions with Elicit Plant’s experience in developing technologies that improve plant water management. Both companies will focus on scientific research, field testing, and creating practical solutions that address real-world farming challenges.

As part of the initiative, the companies will conduct extensive field evaluations across major North American canola-growing regions. The goal is to develop a validated, grower-friendly solution that can help protect crop productivity and improve resilience under water-limited conditions.
