A five-year-old forage harvester sold for the highest price during a recent farm equipment auction.

Here are the five pieces of machinery that sold for the highest prices at a June 1 BigIron auction.

A 2017 CLAAS Jaguar 900 self-propelled forage harvester from Loveland, Colo., sold for US$205,250 (CAD$258,117) to a buyer from New Mexico after 201 bids.

A 2010 Massey Ferguson 7499 MFWD tractor from Dixon, Neb., sold for US$120,250 (CAD$151,234) to a buyer from Minnesota after 110 bids.

A 2011 John Deere 9570 STS combine from Fontana, Kan., sold for US$95,000 (CAD$119,442) to a buyer from Iowa after 132 bids.

A Kinze 3650 12R30/23R15 planter from Fontana, Kan., sold for US$48,750 (CAD$61,296) to a buyer from the same state after 150 bids.

Historically, the USDA December crop report is a non-event or another dud report as the USDA reserves any final supply changes to the final report in January of the following year in this case 2026.
