New soybean herbicide offers flexible control of resistant weeds
Corteva has announced the launch of Enclosa™ herbicide, a new weed management product designed to give soybean growers another option for controlling challenging weeds. The product has received approval from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and is currently moving through state approval processes.
Enclosa™ combines encapsulated acetochlor, a Group 15 herbicide, with cloransulam, a Group 2 herbicide. According to Corteva, this is the first herbicide to offer this specific combination in a single product. The blend provides weed control along with up to four weeks of residual activity, helping protect fields for a longer period after application.
The new herbicide builds on the technology introduced with Enversa herbicide in 2025. Encapsulated acetochlor is designed to move quickly from plant surfaces into the soil, where it forms a barrier that helps stop weed growth. By adding cloransulam, Enclosa™ provides both residual and systemic weed control.

The launch of Enclosa herbicide is the latest advancement that will give farmers an additional option for flexible and convenient control.”
Corteva says the product is effective against more than 36 broadleaf weeds and grasses. It can be used in both pre-emergence and post-emergence soybean programs, giving farmers greater flexibility throughout the growing season.
Another key benefit is its ability to support resistance management. Using multiple modes of action helps reduce the risk of weeds developing resistance to herbicides. This approach has become increasingly important as growers face more difficult weed control challenges.
Enclosa™ also offers a broad application window and can be used with several tank-mix partners. It complements products commonly used in soybean production, including herbicides containing metribuzin, sulfentrazone, glyphosate, and glufosinate. The product can also be paired with Enlist One® herbicide in Enlist E3 soybean systems.
The herbicide will be sold as an easy-to-use liquid premix, helping simplify mixing and application. Initial sales are expected later in 2026, with use planned for the 2027 growing season.
