A record grain crop and major supply chain investments helped CPKC move more Canadian grain than ever before.
Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) has achieved a historic milestone by setting a new record for transporting Canadian grain and grain products during the 2025-2026 crop year.
The railway moved 30.66 million metric tonnes (MMT) of grain, surpassing the previous record established in the 2020-2021 crop year by approximately 72,500 metric tonnes.
The record-breaking performance reflects strong collaboration between CPKC, grain producers, customers, and terminal operators.
The company reported that the total grain volume transported during the crop year was 11% higher than the previous year, 16% above the three-year average, and 20 per cent greater than the five-year average.
"Our team of exceptional railroaders reliably delivered the largest Canadian grain crop in history with consistency throughout the crop year," said John Brooks, CPKC Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer.
"Our dedication to service excellence, paired with solid execution by our customers and terminal operators, led to a crop year that saw more Canadian grain and grain products move on our network than ever before. This performance illustrates our long-standing commitment to the safe and efficient transportation of Canadian grain."
CPKC also achieved quarterly and monthly transportation records during the year, including milestones in the first and second quarters of 2026, as well as in January, February, April, May, and June.

CPKC plans to build on this momentum in the 2026-2027 crop year by expanding service options and improving market access for Canadian grain shippers.
