Farmers in two provinces are asking for a pause to a proposed high-speed rail project.
The Ontario Federation of Agriculture and l’Union des producteurs agricoles want the Alto project suspended while a more transparent, cautious assessment takes place.
Their concerns stem from early alignment maps showing the rail corridor running directly through regions with some of the richest agricultural soils in both provinces.
