A delegation of Canadian senators conducted a full day fact finding mission on March 6, 2026, visiting several major food system organizations and research facilities across Southwestern Ontario.
The senators visited places like the Ontario Food Terminal and multiple University of Guelph facilities.
The goal: to see how food moves “from source to stomach,” where gaps exist, and how research and innovation can strengthen Canada’s long term food resilience.
