The Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) has submitted its report on imports of certain vegetable goods to the Governor in Council following a six-month safeguard inquiry into potential injury to Canadian producers.
The Tribunal announced Sept. 9 that the report contains its determination, reasons and any recommendations arising from the investigation. The public notice did not disclose the Tribunal's findings.
Producers of peas, beans, sweet corn and other processing vegetables have faced increasing competition from imported products in recent years, particularly in value-added frozen and canned categories.
