4) Could Canada really grow citrus fruit year-round?

In February, a report from CTV News suggested Canada could grow lemons, oranges and other citrus fruits year-round.

The CTV report featured Jane Squier, a citrus grower on Salt Spring Island, British Columbia, grows 35 citrus varieties inside a 6,000-square-foot greenhouse. 

She uses a wood-fueled hydronic heating system, insulated pools, and fans to circulate warm air, keeping costs as low as a single-family home’s power bill.
