9) Manitoba harvest accelerates as spring wheat, barley and pea crops enter the combine stage

Wheat harvest

Harvest activity is gaining momentum across Manitoba as producers begin combining cereals, oilseeds and pulse crops while continuing forage and silage operations.

According to the latest Manitoba crop report, early harvest progress and encouraging yield reports are creating cautious optimism despite pockets of dryness and ongoing livestock health concerns.

Winter cereal harvest is leading the way, with producers in Manitoba's Eastern and Central regions reporting that harvest is approximately 75 per cent complete.

Attention is now turning toward spring cereals as crops reach maturity and harvesting equipment moves into fields across the province.
