9) Record bulk grain exports at Port of Vancouver in 2025

Port of Vancouver

Canadian ag helped the Port of Vancouver have a record year in 2025.

“The Port of Vancouver handled 170.4 million metric tonnes (MMT) of cargo in 2025, an almost 8% increase compared to the previous record set in 2024,” the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority said in a March 9 statement.

For context, that volume is approximately the weight of 3,270 Titanic ships.

Ag exports like grain, canola, and potash supported the port’s success.

Here’s how.

The port authority cited “strong wheat exports” which hit a record of 15.9 MMT in 2025, as a factor in its overall record of bulk grain exports reaching 30.3 MMT.
