2) Billions of bushels and acres lost in North/Central U.S.

In June, parts of the U.S. Midwest experienced one of the wettest months in a long time.

Many areas received as much as 15-18 inches of rain in less than one week.
Some experts and analysts forecasted a loss of one million acres of corn and soybeans while World Weather has projected that 10% of the U.S. Midwest has been impacted. 

A disaster emergency was declared for 21 counties in northwest and northern Iowa.
