U.S. farmers could be receiving financial support from the federal government.
President Trump is considering a package using upwards of $14 billion of tariff revenue to support farmers, the Wall Street Journal reports.
The president indicated help is coming for producers.
“We’re going to take some of that tariff money that we made, we’re going to give it to our farmers, who are, for a little while, going to be hurt until the tariffs kick in to their benefit,” told reporters in the Oval Office on Sept. 25 during a meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. “So we’re going to make sure that our farmers are in great shape, because we’re taking in a lot of money.”
As of Oct. 27, farmers are still waiting for a support package.
