In late December, baking company Grupo Bimbo filed a lawsuit with the U.S. Court of International Trade challenging import tariffs.
The company argues that these tariffs were applied unconstitutionally under the pretext of an “economic emergency.”
The lawsuit seeks reimbursement for all 25% tariffs paid since February 2025, when the U.S. administration imposed duties on goods imported from Mexico and Canada that were not covered by the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA).
