The Kinze CEO sold multiple pieces of his tractor collection

A 1971 John Deeere 4020 tractor sold for the highest price at a recent BigIron auction.

But the auction on Nov. 4 wasn’t any regular sale.

The 280 items included in the auction belonged to Jon Kinzenbaw, the CEO of Kinze Manufacturing and inventor of the modern grain cart.

The John Deere 4020 equipped with monster truck tires sold for US$50,250 (CAD$70,717) to a buyer from Ohio after 163 bids.

Specs: 2 Hrs Showing, Diesel, Synchro Transmission, 2 Hyd Outlets, 540/1000 PTO, Side Console, 12 Volt (no Battery), 48X31.00-20 Front Tires, 68X50.00-32 Rear Tires.

The following pieces of equipment rounded out the top five by sale price.

A 1969 Massey Ferguson 1130 also sold for US$50,250 (CAD$70,717), to a buyer from Wisconsin after 156 bids.

Specs: 4,220 Hrs Showing, Narrow Front, Diesel, 12-speed Transmission, 2 Hydraulic Outlets, 540 PTO, 3-Pt, 12 Volt (no Battery), 7.50-16 Front Tires (unused), 18.4-38 Rear Tires (unused).

A Hitachi ZX230TN excavator sold for US$47,250 (CAD$66,510) to a buyer from Iowa after 131 bids.

Specs: Isuzu 6-cyl Diesel Engine, Hydrostatic Drive, 40" Bucket, Hydraulic Thumb, Open Station Cab W/Tree Guard, 24" Triple Bar Grouser Pads.

A 2012 KUHN Krause Excelerator 8000 40’ vertical tillage tool sold for US$38,870 (CAD$54,714) to a buyer from Missouri after 210 bids.

Specs: 5 Section Frame, Hydraulic Adjust Front & Rear Gangs, Round Bar Rolling Basket, Hydraulic Adjust Star Wheels, Single Pt, Depth Control, 21.5" Blades, 380/60R18.5 Tires.

And a 1970 John Deere 4020 tractor sold for US$36,000 (CAD$50,664) to a buyer from Texas after 172 bids.
