New folding power harrow boosts seedbed quality and field efficiency
KUHN has launched the new HR 6042 R power harrow, a machine designed to help farmers prepare high-quality seedbeds while improving efficiency and ease of use. The equipment replaces the previous HR 6040 R model and includes several upgrades aimed at supporting modern farming operations.
The HR 6042 R features a redesigned frame that improves accessibility and reduces soil buildup during operation. Its single-arm, single-pivot design allows easier access to important components, making maintenance simpler and helping operators reduce service time. The folding design also improves transport stability by keeping the machine’s center of gravity closer to the tractor.
Built for demanding field conditions, the machine is designed for high-horsepower farming operations. It includes a heavy-duty, oil-cooled central gearbox capable of handling up to 460 PTO horsepower. Advanced rotor and blade technology help create a uniform seedbed while reducing fuel use and limiting the number of field passes required.
Operator comfort and convenience are key features of the new machine. Standard in-cab hydraulic controls allow users to adjust working depth and level settings without leaving the tractor. This helps operators respond quickly to changing field conditions and maintain consistent results throughout the day.
The HR 6042 R also offers multiple rotor speed options and various rear roller configurations. These features provide flexibility for different crops, soil conditions, and farming practices, allowing users to fine-tune soil preparation based on their specific needs.
The machine is suitable for a wide range of agricultural operations, including fruit, vegetables, and potato production. It can also be used by row crop farmers performing secondary tillage, as well as contractors and turf managers who require precise soil conditioning and finishing capabilities.
“The HR 6042 R is built to deliver consistent seedbed results while making operators’ jobs easier,” said Nicholas Holmes, KUHN Product Manager. “From improved access for maintenance to in-cab adjustments and efficient soil conditioning, it’s designed to maximize productivity in demanding conditions.”
According to KUHN, the HR 6042 R was developed to provide reliable seedbed preparation while making operation and maintenance more efficient. The combination of durable construction, advanced soil-working technology, and user-friendly controls helps improve productivity in challenging field environments.
