Community 5K helps connect youth with farming and local food
As fewer people grow up with direct connections to farms, agricultural literacy is becoming increasingly important. To help bridge the gap between consumers and producers, the Delaware Farm Bureau Foundation is hosting its annual Lace Up for Ag Literacy 5K Run Walk on October 10, 2026.
The event will bring together community members, farm supporters, students, and families for a day focused on education, awareness, and support for agriculture. The fundraiser helps advance the Foundation’s mission of improving public understanding of farming, food production, and the role agriculture plays in everyday life.
Funds raised during the event will support agricultural literacy programs designed to reach students and consumers through hands-on learning experiences, classroom education, and practical resources.
