Lean Hogs Commodity Update for the Week Ending Dec 15, 2017

For the week of Dec 11, 2017, lean hogs finished at 68.525. Compared to last week’s price of 68.85, the price of lean hogs fell by 0.5%.

Dec 12, 2017 saw the price of lean hogs at its lowest point with a price of 66.525.

Between Nov 15, 2017 and Dec 15, 2017 the price of lean hogs rose by 1.6%. At this time last month, prices for lean hogs were at 67.45 and have now jumped to 68.525.

Lean hogs have also seen an improvement from last year. At this time in 2016, the price was at 63.75. The change in prices from a year ago represents an increase of 7.5%.

The worst day for lean hogs occurred on Sep 28, 2016 when the price was at 57.9.

The total volume for lean hogs for the week of Dec 11, 2017 was 92738. On Dec 15, 2017, lean hogs had their lowest daily volume of the week, at 14061.
