Lean Hogs Commodity Update for the Week Ending May 31, 2019

For the week of May 27, 2019, lean hogs finished at 85.925. Compared to last week’s price of 87.95, the price of lean hogs fell by 2.3%.

May 28, 2019 saw the price of lean hogs at its lowest point with a price of 85.7.

In the span of a month, the price of lean hogs dropped by 7%. At this time last month, they were at 92.375 and have since dropped to 85.925.

Lean hogs have also seen an improvement from last year. At this time in 2018, the price was at 76.025. The change in prices from a year ago represents an increase of 13%.

The worst day for lean hogs occurred on Jul 11, 2018 when the price was at 70.05.

The total volume for lean hogs for the week of May 27, 2019 was 89927. On May 30, 2019, lean hogs had their lowest daily volume of the week, at 20478.
