Live Cattle Commodity Update for the Week Ending Dec 30, 2016

The week of Dec 26, 2016 saw the price of live cattle end at 116.05. Compared to last week’s ending price of 116.3 the price of live cattle dropped by 0.2%.

The lowest price point for live cattle during the week occurred on Dec 27, 2016 when the price was at 116.

Between Nov 30, 2016 and Dec 30, 2016 the price of live cattle rose by 3.7%. At this time last month, prices for live cattle were at 111.95 and have now jumped to 116.05.

Live cattle has also seen price drops since last year. Around this time in 2015, live cattle prices were at 123.3. The change in prices from last year equal a decrease of 5.9%.

On Dec 17, 2015, live cattle had its worst day as far as markets go when it was at 114.5.

Live cattle’s total volume for the week was 87552. Its worst performing day came on Dec 27, 2016, when the commodity saw its weekly low of 13408.
