Live Cattle Commodity Update for the Week Ending Jan 04, 2019

The week of Dec 31, 2018 saw the price of live cattle end at 121.925. Compared to last week’s ending price of 124.175 the price of live cattle dropped by 1.8%.

The lowest price point for live cattle during the week occurred on Jan 04, 2019 when the price was at 121.925.

Between Dec 04, 2018 and Jan 04, 2019 the price of live cattle rose by 0.2%. At this time last month, prices for live cattle were at 121.65 and have now jumped to 121.925.

Live cattle has also seen an improvement from last year. At this time in 2018, the price was at 116.225. The change in prices from a year ago represents an increase of 4.9%.

On May 16, 2018, live cattle had its worst day as far as markets go when it was at 110.525.

Live cattle’s total volume for the week was 112163. Its worst performing day came on Jan 04, 2019, when the commodity saw its weekly low of 27117.
