Live Cattle Commodity Update for the Week Ending Jan 20, 2023

The week of Jan 16, 2023 saw the price of live cattle end at 159.925. Compared to last week’s ending price of 160.9 the price of live cattle dropped by 0.6%.

The lowest price point for live cattle during the week occurred on Jan 19, 2023 when the price was at 159.125.

Between Dec 20, 2022 and Jan 20, 2023 the price of live cattle rose by 0.2%. At this time last month, prices for live cattle were at 159.65 and have now jumped to 159.925.

Live cattle has also seen an improvement from last year. At this time in 2022, the price was at 148.975. The change in prices from a year ago represents an increase of 7.4%.

On Jan 04, 2022, live cattle had its worst day as far as markets go when it was at 147.25.

Live cattle’s total volume for the week was 130219. Its worst performing day came on Jan 20, 2023, when the commodity saw its weekly low of 24497.
