Live Cattle Commodity Update for the Week Ending Jan 25, 2019

The week of Jan 21, 2019 saw the price of live cattle end at 126.85. Compared to last week’s ending price of 127.375 the price of live cattle dropped by 0.4%.

The lowest price point for live cattle during the week occurred on Jan 22, 2019 when the price was at 126.075.

Between Dec 24, 2018 and Jan 25, 2019 the price of live cattle rose by 1.3%. At this time last month, prices for live cattle were at 125.225 and have now jumped to 126.85.

Live cattle has also seen an improvement from last year. At this time in 2018, the price was at 115.3. The change in prices from a year ago represents an increase of 10%.

On May 16, 2018, live cattle had its worst day as far as markets go when it was at 111.45.

Live cattle’s total volume for the week was 90306. Its worst performing day came on Jan 24, 2019, when the commodity saw its weekly low of 17118.
