Live Cattle Commodity Update for the Week Ending Jan 27, 2017

The week of Jan 23, 2017 saw the price of live cattle end at 117.325. Compared to last week’s ending price of 118.975 the price of live cattle dropped by 1.4%.

The lowest price point for live cattle during the week occurred on Jan 27, 2017 when the price was at 117.325.

Between Dec 27, 2016 and Jan 27, 2017 the price of live cattle rose by 2.9%. At this time last month, prices for live cattle were at 113.975 and have now jumped to 117.325.

Live cattle has also seen price drops since last year. Around this time in 2016, live cattle prices were at 120.4. The change in prices from last year equal a decrease of 2.6%.

On Oct 13, 2016, live cattle had its worst day as far as markets go when it was at 97.35.

Live cattle’s total volume for the week was 102156. Its worst performing day came on Jan 23, 2017, when the commodity saw its weekly low of 16302.
