Live Cattle Commodity Update for the Week Ending Jun 16, 2017

The week of Jun 12, 2017 saw the price of live cattle end at 118.175. Compared to last week’s ending price of 123.85 the price of live cattle dropped by 4.6%.

The lowest price point for live cattle during the week occurred on Jun 15, 2017 when the price was at 117.5.

In the span of a month, the price of live cattle dropped by 0.1%. At this time last month, live cattle was at 118.25 and have since dropped to 118.175.

Live cattle has also seen an improvement from last year. At this time in 2016, the price was at 105. The change in prices from a year ago represents an increase of 12.5%.

On Oct 13, 2016, live cattle had its worst day as far as markets go when it was at 90.

Live cattle’s total volume for the week was 114693. Its worst performing day came on Jun 16, 2017, when the commodity saw its weekly low of 16375.
