Live Cattle Commodity Update for the Week Ending Mar 23, 2018

The week of Mar 19, 2018 saw the price of live cattle end at 106.2. Compared to last week’s ending price of 111.75 the price of live cattle dropped by 5%.

The lowest price point for live cattle during the week occurred on Mar 23, 2018 when the price was at 106.2.

In the span of a month, the price of live cattle dropped by 9.1%. At this time last month, live cattle was at 116.8 and have since dropped to 106.2.

Live cattle has also seen an improvement from last year. At this time in 2017, the price was at 99. The change in prices from a year ago represents an increase of 7.3%.

On Mar 07, 2017, live cattle had its worst day as far as markets go when it was at 96.45.

Live cattle’s total volume for the week was 164381. Its worst performing day came on Mar 19, 2018, when the commodity saw its weekly low of 27179.
