Live Cattle Commodity Update for the Week Ending Mar 29, 2019

The week of Mar 25, 2019 saw the price of live cattle end at 119. Compared to last week’s ending price of 123.5 the price of live cattle dropped by 3.6%.

The lowest price point for live cattle during the week occurred on Mar 29, 2019 when the price was at 119.

In the span of a month, the price of live cattle dropped by 1%. At this time last month, live cattle was at 120.15 and have since dropped to 119.

Live cattle has also seen an improvement from last year. At this time in 2018, the price was at 107.1. The change in prices from a year ago represents an increase of 11.1%.

On May 16, 2018, live cattle had its worst day as far as markets go when it was at 105.5.

Live cattle’s total volume for the week was 127330. Its worst performing day came on Mar 29, 2019, when the commodity saw its weekly low of 18898.
