Live Cattle Commodity Update for the Week Ending Mar 31, 2017

The week of Mar 27, 2017 saw the price of live cattle end at 110.875. Compared to last week’s ending price of 112.85 the price of live cattle dropped by 1.8%.

The lowest price point for live cattle during the week occurred on Mar 31, 2017 when the price was at 110.875.

Between Feb 28, 2017 and Mar 31, 2017 the price of live cattle rose by 3.1%. At this time last month, prices for live cattle were at 107.55 and have now jumped to 110.875.

Live cattle has also seen an improvement from last year. At this time in 2016, the price was at 110.675. The change in prices from a year ago represents an increase of 0.2%.

On Oct 13, 2016, live cattle had its worst day as far as markets go when it was at 91.45.

Live cattle’s total volume for the week was 113290. Its worst performing day came on Mar 28, 2017, when the commodity saw its weekly low of 20589.
