Live Cattle Commodity Update for the Week Ending May 10, 2019

The week of May 06, 2019 saw the price of live cattle end at 112.45. Compared to last week’s ending price of 113.425 the price of live cattle dropped by 0.9%.

The lowest price point for live cattle during the week occurred on May 08, 2019 when the price was at 111.075.

In the span of a month, the price of live cattle dropped by 6.3%. At this time last month, live cattle was at 119.95 and have since dropped to 112.45.

Live cattle has also seen an improvement from last year. At this time in 2018, the price was at 108.775. The change in prices from a year ago represents an increase of 3.4%.

On May 16, 2018, live cattle had its worst day as far as markets go when it was at 105.5.

Live cattle’s total volume for the week was 216031. Its worst performing day came on May 10, 2019, when the commodity saw its weekly low of 41135.
