Live Cattle Commodity Update for the Week Ending May 24, 2019

The week of May 20, 2019 saw the price of live cattle end at 107.95. Compared to last week’s ending price of 108.925 the price of live cattle dropped by 0.9%.

The lowest price point for live cattle during the week occurred on May 24, 2019 when the price was at 107.95.

In the span of a month, the price of live cattle dropped by 6.8%. At this time last month, live cattle was at 115.825 and have since dropped to 107.95.

Live cattle has also seen an improvement from last year. At this time in 2018, the price was at 107.375. The change in prices from a year ago represents an increase of 0.5%.

On May 16, 2018, live cattle had its worst day as far as markets go when it was at 105.05.

Live cattle’s total volume for the week was 89697. Its worst performing day came on May 24, 2019, when the commodity saw its weekly low of 14489.
