Live Cattle Commodity Update for the Week Ending May 26, 2017

The week of May 22, 2017 saw the price of live cattle end at 118.95. Compared to last week’s ending price of 121.05 the price of live cattle dropped by 1.7%.

The lowest price point for live cattle during the week occurred on May 26, 2017 when the price was at 118.95.

Between Apr 26, 2017 and May 26, 2017 the price of live cattle rose by 3.6%. At this time last month, prices for live cattle were at 114.775 and have now jumped to 118.95.

Live cattle has also seen an improvement from last year. At this time in 2016, the price was at 105.575. The change in prices from a year ago represents an increase of 12.7%.

On Oct 13, 2016, live cattle had its worst day as far as markets go when it was at 90.

Live cattle’s total volume for the week was 122654. Its worst performing day came on May 25, 2017, when the commodity saw its weekly low of 21807.
