Live Cattle Commodity Update for the Week Ending May 31, 2019

The week of May 27, 2019 saw the price of live cattle end at 103.075. Compared to last week’s ending price of 107.95 the price of live cattle dropped by 4.5%.

The lowest price point for live cattle during the week occurred on May 31, 2019 when the price was at 103.075.

In the span of a month, the price of live cattle dropped by 7.8%. At this time last month, live cattle was at 111.775 and have since dropped to 103.075.

Live cattle has also seen price drops since last year. Around this time in 2018, live cattle prices were at 108.575. The change in prices from last year equal a decrease of 5.1%.

On May 16, 2018, live cattle had its worst day as far as markets go when it was at 105.05.

Live cattle’s total volume for the week was 121761. Its worst performing day came on May 29, 2019, when the commodity saw its weekly low of 26929.
