Live Cattle Commodity Update for the Week Ending Oct 12, 2018

The week of Oct 08, 2018 saw the price of live cattle end at 116.175. Compared to last week’s ending price of 118.15 the price of live cattle dropped by 1.7%.

The lowest price point for live cattle during the week occurred on Oct 12, 2018 when the price was at 116.175.

Between Sep 12, 2018 and Oct 12, 2018 the price of live cattle rose by 0.6%. At this time last month, prices for live cattle were at 115.525 and have now jumped to 116.175.

Live cattle has also seen an improvement from last year. At this time in 2017, the price was at 113.65. The change in prices from a year ago represents an increase of 2.2%.

On Aug 10, 2017, live cattle had its worst day as far as markets go when it was at 105.925.

Live cattle’s total volume for the week was 120352. Its worst performing day came on Oct 11, 2018, when the commodity saw its weekly low of 20791.
