Live Cattle Commodity Update for the Week Ending Oct 20, 2017

The week of Oct 16, 2017 saw the price of live cattle end at 116.6. Compared to last week’s ending price of 117.125 the price of live cattle dropped by 0.4%.

The lowest price point for live cattle during the week occurred on Oct 17, 2017 when the price was at 115.975.

Between Sep 20, 2017 and Oct 20, 2017 the price of live cattle rose by 0.3%. At this time last month, prices for live cattle were at 116.25 and have now jumped to 116.6.

Live cattle has also seen an improvement from last year. At this time in 2016, the price was at 94.7. The change in prices from a year ago represents an increase of 23.1%.

On Oct 13, 2016, live cattle had its worst day as far as markets go when it was at 92.825.

Live cattle’s total volume for the week was 103489. Its worst performing day came on Oct 16, 2017, when the commodity saw its weekly low of 17597.
