Live Cattle Commodity Update for the Week Ending Oct 27, 2023

The week of Oct 23, 2023 saw the price of live cattle end at 182.225. Compared to last week’s ending price of 184.625 the price of live cattle dropped by 1.3%.

The lowest price point for live cattle during the week occurred on Oct 23, 2023 when the price was at 178.35.

In the span of a month, the price of live cattle dropped by 3.2%. At this time last month, live cattle was at 188.175 and have since dropped to 182.225.

Live cattle has also seen an improvement from last year. At this time in 2022, the price was at 162.425. The change in prices from a year ago represents an increase of 12.2%.

On Jun 30, 2022, live cattle had its worst day as far as markets go when it was at 153.325.

Live cattle’s total volume for the week was 197574. Its worst performing day came on Oct 25, 2023, when the commodity saw its weekly low of 23646.
