National event honors agriculture history innovation farmers and collaboration

The Agriculture Council of America will celebrate National Ag Day on March 24, 2026. This annual event recognizes the important role agriculture plays in everyday life by providing food, fiber, and renewable products. It also helps people understand how farming supports the economy and communities.

The 2026 theme, Agriculture Together We Grow Celebrating 250 Years of Progress in Agriculture, highlights teamwork across the agricultural sector. Farmers, ranchers, researchers, businesses, and policymakers all contribute to producing safe, affordable, and abundant food. The theme also reflects 250 years of agricultural progress that has improved productivity and sustainability.

Several events will take place in Washington, D.C., and online. A virtual Ag Day event will begin at 9:00 a.m. with a live stream from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. This allows people across the country to participate and learn more about agriculture’s impact.

Another key event will be held at the USDA Whitten Patio from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Attendees will hear from invited speakers, including the Secretary of Agriculture. The program will feature student panel discussions, winning essay contest videos, and conversations with leaders from commodity groups. A Farm Bureau representative is also scheduled to speak.

In the evening, a Taste of Agriculture reception will be hosted at the Russell Senate Office Building. This event will bring together agricultural leaders, lawmakers, and supporters to celebrate the industry’s achievements and future opportunities.

Organizations and individuals are encouraged to support National Ag Day by participating or sponsoring the event. These activities help promote agricultural awareness and education nationwide. National Ag Day continues to strengthen understanding of agriculture’s value and its role in feeding and sustaining the nation.

Border View Farms is a mid-sized family farm that sits on the Ohio-Michigan border. My name is Nathan. I make and edit all of the videos posted here. I farm with my dad, Mark and uncle, Phil. We also have a part-time employee, Brock. My dad started the farm in 1980. Since then we have grown the operation from just a couple hundred acres to over 3,000. Watch my 500th video for a history of our farm I filmed with my dad.

I started making these videos in the fall of 2019 as a way to help show what I do on a daily basis as a farmer. Agriculture is different from any other industry and I believe the more people that are showing their small piece of agriculture, helps to build our story. We face unique challenges and stressful situations but have some of the most rewarding payoffs in the end. I get to spend everyday doing what I love, raising my kids on the farm, and trying to push our farm to be better every year. I hope that I can address questions or concerns that you might have about farms and agriculture.
