New infrastructure boosts farmer service and efficiency

Nutrien Ag Solutions marked a significant milestone with the grand opening of its upgraded retail facility in Tipton, Indiana, on September 9, 2025. This ribbon-cutting event celebrated the completion of a major infrastructure project that is part of Nutrien’s wider capital improvement initiative across North America.

The celebration brought together Nutrien employees, local farmers, suppliers, and community leaders. Guests toured the new facility and experienced firsthand how the advanced infrastructure will help growers succeed throughout Central Indiana.

Rob Clayton, Senior Vice President of North American Retail, highlighted the company’s focus on local impact. He explained that the project demonstrates Nutrien’s ongoing commitment to supporting farmer success through innovation, reliable service, and sustainable solutions season after season.

The Tipton site now stands as one of Nutrien’s most advanced retail facilities. Key upgrades include a 5,000-ton dry fertilizer storage system with rail access and a 250-ton-per-hour receiving and blending setup for precise nutrient mixes. A liquid storage and blending facility now holds 2 million gallons of UAN, 240,000 gallons of nutritional products, and 110,000 gallons of crop chemistry, with interior and exterior load pads for custom blends.

The location also features an enhanced anhydrous ammonia system with four riser platforms, 120,000 gallons of NH3 storage, and stabilizer injection capabilities. A modern office space equipped with digital tools further improves operational efficiency and customer service.

This advanced facility reflects Nutrien’s dedication to meeting the growing needs of Indiana farmers. By expanding storage, blending capabilities, and service efficiencies, Nutrien strengthens its role as a trusted partner helping growers maximize yields, profitability, and sustainability across the region.
