WPX sessions offer policy insights expert interviews and pork tastings

The National Pork Producers Council is introducing a new feature at the World Pork Expo through its NPPC Connect sessions. This year, registered media can enjoy special pork tastings prepared by the NPPC Communications Team as a gesture of appreciation for their support of the industry.

The NPPC encourages media professionals to begin their expo experience by attending the Policy Panel. This session will explain how policy decisions are developed and implemented in the pork industry.

Speakers will cover current regulatory and legislative topics affecting producers at both federal and state levels. The panel aims to show how advocacy efforts help address challenges and create opportunities for market growth.

The Policy Panel titled Policy Pulse How Pork Wins in DC and Beyond will be held on Wednesday June 3 from 830 to 930 am Central Time at the Walnut Center. The session will feature moderator Sarah Muirhead along with key industry leaders including Rob Brenneman President of NPPC Bryan Humphreys Chief Executive Officer Maria C Zieba Vice President of Government Affairs and Pat McGonegle CEO of Iowa Pork Producers Association.

Following the panel, the We Speak Up Connect Sessions will provide opportunities for registered media to meet industry leaders and subject matter experts in one-on-one interviews. These sessions allow deeper discussions on important topics such as dietary guidelines, farm policy, animal health, and trade.

Connect Session One will take place on June 3 from 945 to 1115 am Central Time and will include speakers like Rob Brenneman Pat Hord Maria Zieba Dr Anna Forseth Holly Cook and Kyle Garner. Connect Session Two will be held on June 4 at the same time with speakers including Duane Stateler Todd Marotz Bryan Humphreys and Dr Ashley Johnson.

All Connect sessions will be held at the FFA Building Media Center. These discussions will give insights into pork industry challenges, opportunities, and future priorities.
