New EVP role unites wholesale and retail sales to strengthen global customer value
Nutrien Ltd has announced the appointment of Chris Reynolds as Executive Vice President Global Sales. The newly created role is designed to bring unified leadership across the company’s wholesale and retail sales organizations and improve how value is delivered to customers around the world.
The appointment follows a planned leadership transition as Jeff Tarsi steps back from his role leading Nutrien’s global retail business and moves into an advisory position. During his tenure, the retail business experienced strong growth and major operational transformation.
“Chris’ experience, vision, and leadership will guide our global sales organization through its next phase of growth,” said Ken Seitz, President and Chief Executive Officer of Nutrien Ltd. “His track record of delivering results across our international operations makes him the right leader to deliver greater value for our customers worldwide, strengthen our teams, capture efficiency, and enhance our execution.”
In his new position, Reynolds will focus on aligning sales enablement across both wholesale and retail operations. This includes using shared systems network infrastructure and coordinated commercial planning while allowing each sales team to stay focused on the specific needs of its customers. The goal is to turn Nutrien’s size scale and agronomic knowledge into clear measurable benefits for growers and partners.
The company’s leadership believes this structure will help improve operational efficiency across the full value chain. By better connecting sales planning product availability and market insights, Nutrien aims to support growth in proprietary products and provide more consistent service across regions.
“I want to sincerely thank Jeff for his leadership and the lasting impact he has had on Nutrien over his tenure,” said Seitz. “By keeping safety and customers at the center of everything we do, Jeff has played a central role in building and scaling our global retail platform, positioning us as a leading provider of crop inputs and services. We’re grateful he will continue to support Nutrien in an advisory capacity, and we will continue to benefit from his experience and counsel.”
Reynolds brings more than 25 years of experience in the global fertilizer industry including 22 years with Nutrien. Over his career he has held senior roles in domestic and international sales supply chain management, potash operations and commercial strategy. Most recently he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer. He has also been involved with industry organizations such as the International Fertilizer Association and The Fertilizer Institute and currently serves on the board of Canpotex Limited.
Looking ahead, Tarsi will continue to support the company in an advisory role with a focus on downstream strategy. Nutrien says this transition supports continuity while positioning the business for its next phase of global growth with safety customers and execution of remaining central priorities.
