Expanded ethanol sales strengthen farmers markets and energy security
U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke L. Rollins has welcomed renewed federal support for nationwide year-round sales of E15 ethanol, calling it a strong step forward for farmers, energy producers, and rural communities.
“Yet again President Trump is honoring his commitment to America’s farmers and energy producers today in Iowa by announcing his support for the nationwide year-round sale of E-15. As Congress continues to work through the details, the President has been clear - get a bill that allows nationwide E-15 to his desk, and he will sign it to unleash American homegrown row crops for biofuel use like never before,” said Brooke Rollins.
“America’s national security depends on our energy security, and biofuels are a crucial asset that brings more jobs and helps farmers in rural America. This action will allow up to 2 billion more bushels of corn to be consumed domestically,” said Rollins.
The Renewable Fuels Association has also welcomed continued support for E15. The organization says expanded ethanol access helps stabilize corn demand, encourages investment in biofuel infrastructure, and strengthens rural economies. According to the RFA, consistent renewable fuel policies are essential for farmers and ethanol producers to plan for the future.
Industry leaders agree that predictable policy support is critical. They say expanded E15 sales provide certainty for farmers, support value-added markets for grain, and reinforce the connection between agriculture and energy production.
With continued policy backing, supporters believe ethanol will remain a key driver of farm profitability, rural job creation, and energy security in the years ahead.
