Hometown Roots Contest boosts community safety through generous donation
Lallemand Plant Care is once again supporting rural safety and community spirit through its annual Hometown Roots Contest. The Langham Fire Department in Saskatchewan will receive a $5,000 donation as part of the 2025 program.
A local farmer from Langham entered a photo that captured the essence of rural life and was selected as this year’s Saskatchewan winner. The donation, made possible through Lallemand’s community-focused contest, will help the local fire department enhance its services and upgrade safety equipment.
“I chose the Langham Fire Department because they've helped us in the past when our farm had some unfortunate events, and they do so much for the ag community in this area,” says Ozeroff.. “I hope the funds can help them purchase new equipment that makes their jobs faster and safer. I think this is a great competition that allows people to give back to their communities in meaningful ways.”
“As a family-owned business, giving back to rural communities is part of who we are,” says Anne Favre, Strategic Marketing Director – USA & Canada, Lallemand Plant Care. “Through the Hometown Roots Contest, we're proud to shine a light on people like Tyson Ozeroff, and the local heroes who keep our rural communities strong like the Langham Fire Department.”
The Hometown Roots Contest awards three Canadian winners each year—one each from Alberta, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan—allowing them to select a local organization or charity to receive $5,000.
Since launching in 2021, Lallemand has contributed $5,000 each to 29 rural organizations across Canada and the United States, supporting essential community services, education, and safety programs.
