Sixteen breeds of beef cattle found in Canada

Herefords are another popular breed across Canada. They’ve been in the country for over 150 years and producers commonly use them in crossbreeding programs, especially with Angus cattle. Herefords have thick hides and excellent hair coats, which makes them perfect for the cold Canadian winters. They can eat less while keeping warm, thus reducing producers’ overall feed costs.
