Spring Swine Events Across Canada that are Not to be Missed

It’s a sure sign of Spring, several swine events will be taking place over the next few months.  Between April and June 2026, Manitoba, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Ontario will all host significant swine-focused events, ranging from producer AGMs and pork quality competitions to large-scale trade shows and advanced technical training. 

Collectively, these events highlight the strength of regional pork industries and the importance of knowledge-sharing, innovation, and community across Canada’s hog sector.

Manitoba

Royal Manitoba Winter Fair – Pork Quality Competition
Date: April 1, 2026
Location: Brandon, Manitoba

Held as part of the Royal Manitoba Winter Fair, the Pork Quality Competition highlights excellence in hog production, carcass quality, and genetics. The event also includes a Pork Quality Luncheon and supports local charities, combining industry recognition with community engagement.

Manitoba Pork Council 61st Annual General Meeting and Banquet
Date: April 9, 2026
Location: Winnipeg

This event brings together registered pork producers and industry stakeholders to review industry developments, governance matters, and provincial priorities. While primarily a producer-focused meeting, it remains a key networking and policy discussion opportunity within the Manitoba pork sector.

Alberta

Alberta Pork Congress
Date: June 10–11, 2026
Location: Red Deer, Alberta

One of Western Canada’s largest pork-specific events, Alberta Pork Congress features a trade show, educational programming, producer recognition awards, and networking opportunities. The event draws producers, suppliers, and industry leaders from across the Prairies and beyond.
