Joe Ben Bogel of Syngenta explained to Farms.com how the company is strengthening its presence in the biologicals market by combining innovation with proven scientific expertise.
Bogel explained that one of the key advantages Syngenta brings to the biological space is credibility. By supporting products with research and field data, the company aims to address common uncertainties around biological solutions and build greater trust among growers.
This effort is particularly important as farmers look for tools that complement traditional crop protection while improving plant health and resilience.
Among the products gaining attention are YieldOn and Boosten, each designed to support crops at different growth stages.
Booten is typically applied early in the season alongside post-emergence herbicide applications.
Its primary role is to help crops manage abiotic stress caused by environmental factors such as extreme temperatures or inconsistent moisture levels. Since crops are rarely grown under perfect conditions, this early-season support helps plants recover more effectively and maintain steady growth.
Later in the season, YieldOn is used during key reproductive stages, such as tasseling in corn or the R3 stage in soybeans.
At this point, the plant is focused on grain development, and YieldOn works to enhance the movement of sugars and starches into the grain. This process can improve test weight, reduce kernel loss, and ultimately support stronger yields.
Together, these biological solutions provide farmers with practical tools to protect crop performance from early growth through harvest, helping maximize productivity and return on investment.
