North Carolina produced just over $13 billion worth of farm cash receipts in 2014, thanks in part to being a leader in tobacco production in the United States. Operators on the 49,500 farms in North Carolina helped produce more than $911 million worth of tobacco in 2014 along with more than $710 million of soybeans.
