Western weather stalled harvest in some areas

A wet summer and early snowfall meant farmers in parts of Alberta and Saskatchewan had to extend their harvest season.

In Alberta alone, Brazeau and Lac Ste. Anne counties declared agricultural disasters due to the potential for yield loss.

Alberta Minister of Agriculture Oneil Carlier called the situations "a heartbreaker."
